Back to School

I feel like I have been in school for about a month now.. thankful to have this crusade to push me to take a look at what in the hell I am doing..

I switched from a PC to a mac, bought a new camera, organized a new website, started up new online classes and decided to try and start a photpgraphy business... being a mom to my three year old, guiding my students...gettin 'er done.

Truth be told I do not know what the future holds for myself... all I know is it will be creative and it will be balanced. Searching for a balance between it all...THAT my friends, is what I am learning. (Aside from the new operating systems, camera, web host....you get the idea.) I don't ever want to stop learning.. give it to me! Thanks, Michelle.

Oh..you're new here? Get over to Michelle's monthly challenge blog and join in! What are you waiting for?

Yikes! Do you ever have time to sleep? You're juggling a lot of balls but I bet you keep them all in the air. Love the balance page....those blues are gorgeous.

We went Mac too recently. I love it more and more and am always finding new fun things. IChat is easy and a blast. "Grab" is a good function and is the equivalent of PC copy/paste...took me a while to totally love it but its ok. Photo Booth is a hoot. Go to Finder>Applications> and just drag favorite applications to our system tray/dashboard. MAC doesn't use the same keyboard keys for "home" and "end" for a single line/sentence which I use a lot to navigate a blog post...but I figured it out. MAC tip of the week... command arrow right <home> or command left arrow <end>. Command is the curly cue key and is the main key in most keyboard shortcut combos. Home and End on the keyboard only goes to the top and bottom of the full page not a single line. There's a bit of a learning curve when you a creature of the PC habit but in a way its a lot easier and you need to actually dumb down(not overthink) to use a Mac. If that makes any sense?? Enjoy.

ha ha...balance is always something i'm striving for and very rarely achieving...i even wrote my thesis in grad school on the topic and it is one of my overused labels on my blog...i think you are doing an awesome job! love being a part of your life and living vicariously through your creativity...and i love my mac...i say "once you go mac, you won't go back" but i probably heard that somewhere...now to check out michelle's challenge...

Hi Julie,
I couldn't agree more with ya about learning. I've watched how ya've been branching out in new areas in ya life. I am in awe of how ya handle it all. Balance, a word I believe I need to learn. I'm also learning to not feel guilty over doing for myself, versus always for the family. Not that I neglect the family, it's just me tweaking out some time for myself.Something I've never done before. I can't wait to see what new adventures ya'll be having. Thanks for always sharing with us what all ya've learned. Have a wonderful night.
Hugs~ Poe

Julie, you've been so busy since you made your move! Doesn't it all come down to timing in the end??? I always say "things happen for a reason" and we find ourselves on the 'right' path eventually! I love taking your classes, good luck with the photography business and your balancing act is inspiring me too!
Love the blues behind the words... =)

Balance...that's it. No matter how much we take on, how many things we need to do or places to be, or people who rely on us -- we need a balance with all of that.

Yay! Mac rules.... but a bit like a new pair of shoes that are stiff and sore at first, but after a week or two fit your feet like slippers:) Sounds like you've taken a lot on board, but we girls love a challenge, right? I'm sure you'll do well:)

Holy crap, Batgirl, you are ROCKIN' I am in awe of all you have done in the last few months. I honestly believe you have found your niche. You are an incredible teacher, artist, mom, wife, and friend to many. If, at some point, you start to doubt that, come back here and read these posts. *wink* xoxo

hey julie - congrats on the new site, and all your new adventures in *learning*. what i love hearing is that you are eager to learn, and i know you are generous about sharing that too. what a terrific revelation, that *balance* is crucial. i'm picturing you in a jester costume (a really cool one) and you are juggling the many colorful *balls* you already have mastered and as new balls get tossed your way you are able to maintain your balance and keep them all up in the air. bravo! thanks for sharing with the team. xo.

Hi Julie,
I was so thrilled to see you'd come by my blog. I am enjoying Super Nova SO much, although I'm supposedly making journals right now, not wildly roaming the internet! You seem to have the balance thing working, although I'm not sure how. I'm another recent mac user too, but sooo happy with it.

Balance is such an integral concept! And the colors in this piece are so rich and deep!! Just beautiful.

I share your love for learning. It really keeps me engaged and passionate. Have fun with all of your projects. Once you get familiar with the MAC platform, I think you'll love it. I work with both...MAC at home and PC at work. Balance is a quest I think we all share. All the best!

you are an inspiration! Isn't it great to be a life-long learner.

You continue to amaze me, Julie! I really don't know how you do it all... do you consume massive quantities of energy drinks?!? Do you sleep at all?!? I salute you for seeking to find balance... that is crucial for all of us, and I appreciate the reminder. Not sure what the future holds, either, and I hope, like you, that it will be as creative as possible. Otherwise I feel like I might just curl up and die. Know what I mean?!? Hey, congrats, too, on buying a mac and for pushing yourself to learn all the new things you're working on... once again, you inspire me to do more! Gotta go and get busy now! All my best, Kathy (kathymccreedy.typepad.com)
