In Review, continued.

18x24" Acrylic on Wood

I thought about packing up my art studio today and converting the space into a guest bedroom or office...but I have no where to keep the packed up paint. The studio stays...but there sure is not much going on in here these days.. maybe I am a cold weather painter. How about you?

Don't pack it up! You will be back in there once the school year starts again, and that is only weeks away.

I know that now it is winter here my Muse seems to have returned for a while. I had such a hard time over summer trying to stay motivated and focused.

It seems every time I motivate myself into the studio I end up getting interrupted with paint all over my hands and no way to answer the phone or door. At least I'm giving it a try. My problem is that I'm never satisfied with the end product. I've got hundreds of dollars in supplies and some days I just want to make a pile in the back yard and burn it all! The next morning or maybe even a week later - I'm glad I didn't. Today is one of THOSE - I'd like to burn it days. I see promise but my inner critic is shouting in my ear! So, I see the guest bedroom thing flash before my eyes, have a glass of wine and hope tomorrow I will find the time and talent to see one of my projects to completion :)) You do beautiful work Ms. Julie. A guest bedroom would be a crying shame.

I paint much more in warm weather. My stack of painted canvases and papers is growing...
